Where we work

Six environments where a painted wall stops being good enough.

Each sector carries a different standard. We specify sheet grade, trim system and sealant to match the one you are audited against.

01

Commercial kitchens

Splash zones, fryer walls and pass-throughs clad in one impervious surface that wipes clean at close.

2.5mm sheet · hot-air welded
02

Food & beverage processing

High-pressure wash-down areas, chill rooms and production halls finished to withstand daily caustic cleaning.

Coved trims · food-grade sealant
03

Hospitals, dental & care

Treatment rooms, sluices and corridors clad in antibacterial sheet with sealed internal corners.

Antibacterial grade · Class 1 spread
04

Schools, leisure & washrooms

Changing rooms, wet areas and servery walls that survive heavy traffic and cut long-term repainting.

Impact grade · holiday programming
05

Pharma & cleanroom

Controlled environments where every junction is coved, welded and documented for validation.

Coved floor junction · welded rod
06

Retail, warehousing & agriculture

Back-of-house prep, packing halls and livestock buildings lined to a surface that hoses down.

Heavy-duty sheet · corner guards

The comparison

Paint fails on moisture. Tile fails on grout.

Both are cheaper on day one. Neither is cheaper across ten years of wash-down, and only one gives an inspector nothing to write down.

Free site survey

01

Free site survey

We attend, measure every elevation, and photograph the substrate. You get an honest read on what can be clad over and what has to come off first.

02

Measured specification

Sheet grade, thickness, trim system and sealant chosen against the standard you are audited to — then priced as a fixed quotation, supplied and fitted.

03

Programmed around you

Where the site allows, work is phased by zone so the rest of the building keeps running. Night and weekend working is agreed in advance, not improvised.

04

Installation and sealing

Sheets bonded and mechanically fixed, joints hot-air welded or capped, internal corners coved, perimeters sealed. Dry trade — no curing time to wait out.

05

Walk-round and guarantee

We walk the finished area with you, snag anything that needs it, hand over cleaning guidance, and issue your post-install guarantee in writing.

Recommended, re-used, passed on.

As new owners of cafe premises that needed total renovation, James was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable when we needed to build a commercial kitchen area. He advised us on the regulatory hygiene and safety requirements for our kitchen walls, ceilings and floors, with a vast array of colours, finishes and prices to suit our budget. His workmanship was great — a gem of a find, and he turned up when he said and tidied up after.

Kate ButlerThe Bunker Cafe, Christchurch

I have used James on numerous projects including nationwide re-fits in Asda's, and have been impressed with his standard of workmanship and speed of install where a quick turnaround was required. He completes projects to a high standard, liaising with other tradesmen on site in a professional manner.

JoshuaDirector, Dorset Construction Company

I was impressed with James's competitive quote and knowledge of the products. The kitchen needed a complete wall and floor re-fit, which he delivered on time — allowing me to open my restaurant for the opening weekend. Hassle free, upfront and honest — great job!

Hygienic Clad were originally recommended to us by another contractor and we haven't looked back! They are reliable, clean and tidy on site and good with clients — but above all, their workmanship is first class too.

Before you ask

The six questions we get on every survey.

Do we have to shut down while you work?

Rarely in full. Cladding is a dry trade, so we can work zone by zone and hand each area back as it is finished. Where a room genuinely cannot be split, we programme nights or weekends and agree it before the quotation is signed.

Can you fit over existing tiles?

Usually, provided the tiles are sound, flat and well bonded. It saves the cost and mess of a strip-out. Where the substrate is blown, damp or badly out of true, we will tell you at survey rather than clad over a problem.

Do you supply the sheet, or just fit it?

Both. Most clients ask us to source the material as well, and our quotations are priced supplied and fitted. If you have already bought sheet, or your specifier has named a manufacturer, we will fit it as a labour-only package.

Will it satisfy an environmental health inspection?

A correctly installed hygienic wall system gives an impervious, smooth, easily cleanable surface with sealed junctions, which is what the guidance asks for. The detail matters more than the sheet: coved corners, welded joints and properly sealed perimeters are where most systems fail.

How long does a typical room take?

It depends on area, access and how much preparation the substrate needs. We confirm the installation schedule after a measured site survey, before anything is committed.

What does the guarantee actually cover?

Our workmanship — the fixings, the welded joints and the sealed edges we installed. It is issued in writing at handover alongside the manufacturer's own material warranty, so you can see exactly who covers what.

Book the survey. Decide afterwards.

One visit, measured elevations, a written specification and a fixed price. No charge, and no obligation to proceed.

  1. We call to confirm access and a time that suits the site.
  2. We survey, measure and photograph every elevation.
  3. You receive the specification and fixed quotation in writing.
